Reverend Micah Roland

CAREER

Reverend Roland is well-established as a Choral Music Director, Literary Coordinator in Cobb County  School District, Choral Music Director, Music Appreciation and Keyboard Instructor in Escambia  County School District, Assistant Director of Pensacola Children’s Chorus/Young Singers, Associate  Minister of Zion Hope Primitive Baptist Church, and Minister of Music and Worship at several  churches. He has a B.A. in Vocal Performance and Teaching from the University of West Florida and  an M.M.Ed in Choral Conducting from Mississippi State University.

Throughout his music career, he has had many notable performances in Pensacola, Georgia,  California, and Washington, D.C., including the White House. He also has many remarkable  achievements, including the Martin Luther King, Jr.'s “Living the Dream” Award. Among the groups he  holds membership in are the National Teachers Association and the American Choral Directors  Association. He prides himself on being a proud Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. member.

STRENGTH(S)

• Since the candidate has not served as a senior pastor in a church, certain aspects of his leadership  skills have not been demonstrated. 

• The written applications and online sermons show that the candidate is a powerful orator who can  relate spiritually to a diverse group, communicate effectively (preaching and teaching), and involve  the congregation in his sermons. 

• Through his involvement in various career paths, the candidate has demonstrated his ability to work  with groups of all ages. 

• The candidate is young and energetic and will continue to grow; he is familiar with Generation Z  (Gen Z) and has a strong educational and musical background.

OPPORTUNITIES/POTENTIAL

Because of the candidate's age, he can grow and strengthen his leadership and preaching skills. He  needs to ensure that his sermons are not too lengthy. He has a great relationship with local pastors  who can serve as mentors.
